Originally from Austin, Texas, Elyse Reed began experimenting with artistic mediums and styles throughout her teenage years. Primarily self-taught, she gravitates towards oil and acrylic paints to translate daily observations into unique, dreamlike works of art. By focusing on the process of creating and its catharsis, she allows her personal style to ebb and flow, rather than be trapped by the pursuit of a finished or cohesive body of work.

After two years living abroad in Scotland, Elyse returned to the US and became immersed in the San Antonio art community. The creatives that she has met have inspired her to co-found the There Will Be Cake Art Society, a collective of individuals committed to organizing grassroots art shows. She has also ventured into new mediums such as collage and mosaic. Elyse continues to create and develop her artistic style and process.
